TrønderEnergi is a business group which as of 31 December 2008 comprised the parent company, TrønderEnergi AS, and 12 subsidiaries: TrønderEnergi Kraft AS, TronderPower Ltd., TrønderEnergi Varme AS, Orkdal Fjernvarme AS (OFAS), TrønderEnergi Nett AS, TrønderEnergi Marked AS, Loqal AS, TrønderEnergi Entreprenør AS, TrønderElektro AS, Nidit AS, TrønderEnergi Invest AS and Osaelva Kraftverk AS.
TrønderEnergi Kraft AS is responsible for electricity generation and sales. TronderPower is responsible for the construction of a hydropower plant in Bugoye in Uganda. TrønderEnergi Varme AS coordinates and operates the Group’s current and future investments in district and local heating facilities. OFAS will build and operate a district heating system in Orkdal. TrønderEnergi Nett AS is responsible for power transmission, as well as the construction, operation and maintenance of regional and local power distribution grids. TrønderEnergi Marked AS is responsible for brand-building, marketing, and product and services development, as well as power sales and customer service. Loqal AS’s operations comprise the sale, construction and operation of future broadband networks serving private individuals and businesses in Central Norway. TrønderEnergi Entreprenør AS builds and maintains electrical plant on behalf of the Group and third-party companies. TrønderElektro AS is an electrical installation business. Nidit is an IT company offering system management services (ASP/remote operations), technical consultancy and sales of computer equipment and supplies. TrønderEnergi Invest AS manages a financial and an industrial portfolio of investments, and participates as an active investor in several of the companies in its industrial portfolio. The objects of Osaelva Kraftverk AS are to establish and operate wind farms and to carry on other activities related to environmentally friendly generation and transmission of electrical energy.
Rune Malmo is the Group’s President and CEO. EVP Energy Leidulv Gagnat is general manager of TrønderEnergi Kraft, Gunnar Salseggen is general manager of TronderPower Ltd., while the general manager for TrønderEnergi Varme AS is its Chief Financial Officer, Bjørn Erik Paasche, and the general manager of OFAS is Morten Indbryn. EVP Grid Operations Rolf Michelsen is general manager of TrønderEnergi Nett AS, Marketing Director Cathrine Tronstad is general manager of TrønderEnergi Marked AS, Alf Egil Husby is general manager of Loqal AS, Hilmar Fredriksen is general manager of TrønderEnergi Entreprenør AS, and Svein Olav Åmot is General Manager of TrønderElektro AS. Anthon Skagseth is acting general manager of Nidit AS, while EVP Investment Tommy Olsen is general manager of TrønderEnergi Invest AS. Leidulv Gagnat is general manager of Osaelva Kraftverk AS.
TrønderEnergi is owned by 21 local authorities in Sør-Trøndelag as well as Nordmøre Energiverk AS, while seven of the subsidiaries are wholly owned by TrønderEnergi AS. TronderPower Ltd. is 27.8 per cent owned by Norfund. OFAS is 58.6 per cent owned by TrønderEnergi, Salvesen & Thams and Orkdal Energi. Loqal is 22.2 per cent owned by Brødrene Nielsen Eiendom AS and Olav Kåre Dønheim, while 49 per cent of Nidit is owned by the company’s own employees.
In addition, the parent company or one of the subsidiaries holds more than 20 per cent of the shares in a further ten companies. TrønderEnergi Kraft AS owns 100 per cent of Osaelva Kraftverk AS, 75 per cent of Driva Kraftverk, 35 per cent of Kraftverkene i Orkla, and 34 per cent of EnerGuide. TrønderEnergi Nett AS owns 33.3 per cent of Stamnett Fosen, while TrønderEnergi Invest AS owns 33.4 per cent of Vigor AS and 23 per cent of MerPellets AS.
TrønderEnergi also owns 49 per cent of Nordmøre Energiverk AS and 33.3 per cent of Grenor.
